The company was founded, March 1940 by four co-workers of the former G. Elias & Bros. lumberyard.

We are located at 1941 Elmwood Avenue in Buffalo, NY. Our founders acquired the property from the former Elmwood Lumber & Shingle Co. and opened it orginally as a retail lumber business. The war soon headed Frontier into the major role as a supplier of wood and wood products for this areas defense needs.

In, 1975 Frontier Lumber Co., Inc. introduced the wood treatment division to the lumberyard called Woodtreaters of Buffalo. This division specializes in the fire-retardant and wood preservation for all types of lumber through pressure treatment.
